The death of Haydin Hammond

:[ February 17th, 2007

Young former auror found dead in estate blaze.

Daily Prophet report..27th May 1999

Haydin Hammond, a young wizard, recently dismissed from the ministry, was found dead at his home address yesterday morning.

Neighbouring wizards alerted authorities after a fire broke out on the Hammond estate. Mrs Pemberly, a witch resident in the neighbouring village told reporters:

‘’We could see the flames from a mile out, the whole thing was lighting up the sky….no-one could have survived that!'’

And indeed, they didn’t. The ministry confirmed this morning that the body recovered from the building was indeed that of the former auror. They refused to comment on whether Hammond had been the victim of murder or simply a tragic accident.

Hammond, a once respected auror from the ministry, was recently relieved of his duties indefinitely following an incident with the notorious werewolf, Fenrir Greyback. This has lead to speculation that the auror was indeed bitten in the encounter, rendering him tragically unsuitable for his previous position.

Investigations are currently ongoing to establish the exact cause of death. Ministry officials have promised results by the end of the week.

It’s Kingstreet’s Ministry Now

:[ December 29th, 2006

LONDON - Theodora Kingstreet, former Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, has mysteriously replaced Rufus Scrimgeour as Minister of Magic. The report came in early this morning when Morgana Tilberthwaite, a clerk for the Ministry, notified the press that Ms. Kingstreet’s signature had appeared where Mr. Scrimgeour’s usually was on certain memos.

“I don’t know how long it’s been that way,” she told reporters, “but there it was. The Minister’s (Kingstreet) name right there in bold.  Could have been that way all week,” she confessed.  Other personal had similar things to stay about the discovery that Madam Kingstreet had been elevated to Minister.  No official statement has been released by the Ministry of Magic and the Executive Offices are not allowing appointments made by the general public.

Interviews with Ministry personell have been mixed.  Some like Ms Tilberthwaite had only become aware of it recently.  Others, when asked, said it was the first they’d heard of it.  No one close the the Minister’s office could be reached.  When asked if this could be a hoax, Ms Tilberthwaite shook her head, “The paperwork doesn’t lie!”

You heard it here first.  Theodora Kingstreet has mysteriously replaced Rufus Scrimgeour as Minister of Magic.  Her post as the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement has been left vacant, the reins left in the hands of Senior Aurors.  No official statements from the Ministry, no strange events otherwise.  Just a new name mysteriously at the helm.

Lestrange sighting in Knockturn!

:[ December 25th, 2006

Is this a sign of things to come?

After a recent drop in deatheater activity, reports have been made that two deatheaters have been spotted in the premises of Bourgin and Burkes in Knockturn alley. Aurors were called to the scene although no arrests were made.

When asked, to comment, auror on the scene, Samuel Harcroft said:

‘Unfortunately, no-one was captured, although we nearly caught Bellatrix Lestrange.’

Bellatrix Lestrange, well known for her participation in the torture of the two aurors, the Longbottoms, in 1981, is one of ’You know who’s’ most notorious supporters, and has seemingly escaped capture again. Aurors refused to comment on the identity of the second deatheater present.

You-Know-Who Vacationing?

:[ August 8th, 2006

The Wizarding Community has noticed the sudden disappearence and inactivity of the Dark Lord and his Followers. For whatever reason, the Wizarding Wireless cannot say, but… word comes from a reliable source from the Death Eaters that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is going to revisit some “grave-sites” for “lost-souls.” Whatever this means, it cannot be good for the Wizarding Community. Definitely not. However… does the Dark Lord’s sudden silence have anything to do with the disappearence of Harry Potter? One would hope not! Despite Potter’s vanishment, keep your eyes peeled for any suspicious sightings of the Dark Lord. He’s expected to be around here somewhere…

The Boy Who’s Gone?

:[ August 8th, 2006

The Wizarding World is buzzing with rumors and suddenly losing its hope in the War on Death Eaters. Why, some may ask? Well, seems to be that the Boy Who Lived is now the Boy Who is Missing! Last he was seen was right after the attack on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on the first of January, 1999. Spotted also there, was the Dark Lord He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. There has been no quote, however, from the Headmaster of Hogwarts, or even the Minister about the attack. However, several students were pulled from the school since the incident and you listeners are faithful to say — it’s all true! But, does this have any connection as to why the Chosen One has gone missing? Has he finally decided to face You-Know-Who, at last? Will he come back victorious… or come back at all?

Margo McByrne
Dragon Researcher
< dragon-tempered, irascible, and one clever witch >

Firey Margo McByrne, Dragon Researcher

a character spotlight

[Name:] Margo McByrne

[Age:] 26

[Profession:] Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau

[Character Personality:] Margo is as fiery as her hair. She has a flaring temper and a searing wit, but she’s generally a nice person. Also determined, she will do anything that she wants to do and won’t let others get in the way. Her sense of adventure often makes her the most worried about of all her siblings, but she doesn’t mind, her work is important to her, probably more so than a lot of things, and can’t go without it. Her habits are strongly rooted in how she was raised, and that was in a severely proud Irish household. Her pride can’t be broken easily, but when it is, she breaks hard.

Her love for animals is unmistakable and she often puts priority in them before people, arguing that they don’t have voices to use to talk, they can’t stand up for themselves without using their teeth, and someone needs to defend them. She’s a passionate and independent woman who handles herself as best she can in any given situation, and will do anything she needs to upon reaching her goals.

[History:] Irish blood runs strong through Margo’s veins and being the middle sister and a family of three, she has a tough time being recognized, but she manages. Her older sister is the overachiever of the group while her youngest sister is the trouble maker, and Margo found her place as the adventurer. From a very young age, she had always wanted to be exploring something or climbing over things just for fun.

It turned out she would give her parents heart attacks for a long time, but, that didn’t really faze her that much. Margo was always determined to do what she wanted, and even more so when her older sister was sent to Hogwarts for her first year. She had tried to follow her into the platform, but was stopped, much to her dismay. Her parents had a hard time quelling her sobs at why she couldn’t go with her, but promised that three years later she would be able to attend herself.

And when Margo finally did start going to Hogwarts, she instantaneously fell in love with the school, and more particularly the school grounds. On any given day she could be found outside, and although she had flaming red hair, she never had too many freckles, supposing she was just lucky about that. Her favorite pastime was hanging around the creatures from the Care of Magical creatures’ class, and as soon as she took the class she was determined to work with the most fascinating creatures of all, dragons.

She was obsessed, took out every book in the library on them, learned everything she could and poured over her studies, making sure that she would be accepted. And from her first step out onto the field, she was hooked. It was like a drug with her, being near the dangerous and majestic creatures. Her training seemed to take forever, but when she was finally ready to work full-time with the creatures she moved right from Ireland to Romania, never forgetting her culture – in fact, bringing much of it to the mountains with her.

In the midst of raising a Norwegian ridgeback male, she was involved in a climbing accident, and much to her dismay sent from Romania back to the Isles. Her wrist was smashed in three places and she was in no condition to work the field for several months, and now, only two weeks back from the trip, she’s not a happy camper. Having a desk job was never her idea of fun, and she’s counting down the days to go back to Romania, a friend, Vladimir Kunakyev, is raising Lennon, her dragon, for her while she’s gone, and she frequently gets letters and pictures to ensure she’s satisfied with what he’s doing and doesn’t go back and beat him for “abusing” her tot.

She intends to go back to the mountains ASAP because well, as Charlie has told her the newbies are driving him crazy and she wants to be around. She has developed a terrible crush on the second oldest Weasley brother but won’t admit it, seeing as though she wouldn’t want to ruin their friendship. She’s flirty with everyone so it isn’t too much of a big deal, but she likes flirting with him the most ( Wink ). She’s also good friends with Bill, even if they aren’t the closest, they have hung out on several occassions and reminisce about when work used to be fun =P

[Years of Ministry Employment:]
5

[Special Talents/Info:] She’s extremely dedicated and very knowledgeable on dragons. She managed to work her way up very quickly and was even give the chance to raise a dragon that had been orphaned. She is extremely good with animals, often better than with people. She is also an animagus, a skill she adapted in Romania for working with dragons in their natural environment. So, if you ever see an otter running around with random orange hairs, it’s Margo.

[What do you foresee being the main duties of your job?]: Being able to be on call at any time. There has to be flexibility for travel and moving around as well as duties and functions. There must be an ability to shift from one job to the next and be able to perform it just as well as the one you specialized in. Alertness and common sense are also needed, in order to work anywhere near a dragon one needs to have a good head on their shoulder and excellent, snappy decision making skills. There is also a significant amount of paperwork and it must be completed perfectly, lest anything goes wrong and senseless things occur. Raising orphaned dragons is very important and being able to research their habits and mannerisms with deductive and reasoning skills are also a plus. A connection with nature is important and will be necessary in the field as well.

[Writing Sample:]

Margo stared at her wrist lying limply on the paneled desk. A heavy sigh escaping her lips, it had caused her to have to come back here. And on top of that, it still hurt. There was a constant dull ache through her wrist and up her arm. She had to go climbing that day! It wasn’t even job related. Pressing her lips together, her green eyes looked up as she saw something out of the corner of her eye.

The little piece of off-white parchment was flying into her desk at what seemed to be a haphazard speed, and it fell on her desk, unraveling in front of her. ‘Damn memos…’ she thought bitterly, reaching with her left hand to retrieve the message. Thankfully it was only her right wrist that had been damaged, since she seldom used it except for her REAL work. Flattening out the creases, she lifted the note to her face, to read what was written in insanely small print, that she could barely distinguish.

‘Ms. McByrne,’ she hated the formalness of this bureaucracy…
There seems to be a problem in contacting the DRAGON team in the mountains, DRAGON was an acronym for something which she couldn’t remember, but it wasn’t important. The team had changed it anyhow, something along the lines of ‘Drunken Ragtag Adolescent-wannabes Going On Nine,’ of course, that’s not what the ministry had in mind, she was sure. You are needed to establish a communications link between the two posts, Romania and Norway and then link both back to the department. It should not be a long task She doubted that was the truth, as long as you attend to it with seriousness. extremely doubtable.

She sighed and tossed down the paper into the trash can, standing from the confines of the lonely desk, she knew there was work to do, even if it wasn’t what she wanted, she took what she could get, and in the back of her mind, 150 days… rang clear.

Caution! Interview in Progress. Do Not Cross this Line Without Proper Protective Gear

What do you enjoy most about RPing?

The fact that you get to zone in on your writing skills with other people. It’s much easier to develop a style and a character when you have 300+ other people on the site looking to do the same thing. And let’s face it, I have way too much fun torturing most of my characters anyway *wink wink*

What do you most enjoy writing - are their certain elements or styles you
gravitate towards?

I enjoy writing in a comedic style. It’s hard for me to not to interject some sarcasm or crude remark in the middle of the post, but then again, it goes mostly by the character I’m writing. I know I use way too many commas, but that’s just a part of my style. Long live the COMMA!

Do you have any plots you would like people to know about or get involved in with you?

The League of Extraordinary Redheads! We need more redhead participation! We know there are more of you out there, come now! We have to stage a hostil take over and you’re just sitting about lazily. Up and at ‘em redheads! Grin

What other characters do you write?

Aside from the loose canon Margo McByrne, I write for Akiva Katz, Rezi Polyxena, Bella Rhys, and Sarah Chassereau. I <3 my characters.

Anything you would like to pass along to others at the site? Words of Wisdom or wit? Advice?

Always post sufficient lengths, make sure you answer the questions asked above and for God’s sake, post regularly! Wink We are all guilty of not doing that last part… *shifty eyes* except me… of course.

If you could describe your writing style in two words, what would they be?

Comma Happy.

.V a n e. .H e n d r i c.
Seasoned Auror, Specialist

a character spotlight

An Interview with the Vampire…hunter

Q: What do you enjoy most about RPing?
A: Being able to dive in to different aspects of my personality and letting those parts become different characters. Also, it’s fun to find different kinds of people to write with. You can have a story planned out in your head all you want, but when you post with someone else the ideas flow out. I like that this place is always changing.

Q: What do you most enjoy writing - are their certain elements or styles you gravitate towards?
A: When I play my characters, I visualize how they act. I come up with all aspects, especially the ones that no one will see. For example, the way Vane moves his hands or the way he walks. All of those invisible pieces come together to help me visualize. So I guess I tend to gravitate more towards the visual and physical elements.

Q: Do you have any plots you would like people to know about or get involved in with you?
A: Loose Ends. It is open to all Aurors and Hogwarts staff, and as soon as Engel and Vane make their way to the castle then someone else can join in. Either for just one post or a reaccuring appearance… it doesn’t matter. We’d like to have others come in to help strengthen the thread.

Q: What other characters do you write?
A: I write as Marcus Annwyl, Vane Hendric, Jace Valentine, and Cameron Freeman. I’ve got Marcus and Vane pretty much established, and I am working on making Jace and Cam a bit more known.

Q: Anything you would like to pass along to others at the site? Words of Wisdom or wit? Advice?
A: Never forget to have fun. At first when you get on to this board you’ll have a great time getting to know the place and RPing with others. Eventually you’ll get burned out by drama or just the general frustrations that come from maintaining your character(s). You just have to keep remembering why you’re here, and why everyone else is here.

Also, everyone here is your friend, and perhaps you may even see them as family, so don’t ever hesitate to ask for help if you are stuck on something. Sometimes the Admin won’t know the answer. If that’s the case, then don’t sweat it. Ask around. Someone will know the answer.

Q: If you could describe your writing style in two words, what would they be?
A: Physical Adaptation

Character Biography:

[Name:] Vane Hendric

[Age:] 57

[Profession:] Auror; Werewolf/Vampire Specialist

[Character Personality:] Vane is a slightly eccentric person. He tends to not trust wizards all that much, but he has a soft spot for Muggles (but he would never tell anyone that). He rarely talks to anyone and feels he can’t afford to make friends. He’s a loner by nature, but almost always ends up being in some sort of partnership or team. He figures it’s just because people want to see if he’s for real.

[History:] Vane Hendric was a student at Hogwarts back in the day, as a Gryffindor. He had a desire to learn Charms, but he was a natural at Defense Against The Dark Arts. Half-way through his time there he realized his calling, and studied all he could about Vampires and Werewolves. During his seventh year at Hogwarts he witnessed a murder and was questioned by an Auror. It was then that he knew exactly what he wanted to do.

After leaving Hogwarts he tried several times to to get a job at the Ministry, and eventually became an Auror-In-Training. A few years passed and he made it to full-fledged Auror. He worked a few wizard cases, but ached to hunt the subjects he had studied all thoughout school. His time came when he was sent to Muggle London to investigate a werewolf attack on a family of five. He arrived to find the father with a gun, shooting the werewolf. He put the family to sleep and tracked the werewolf. Fortunate for Vane, the werewolf had been wounded by a bullet. If it had not, Vane would’ve easily died.

Having a taste for hunting, she sought out permission to stay in Muggle London and live amongst them, so he can be closer if another attack happened. With every criminal brought in his reputation grew. Eventually it grew to big to stay in Muggle London and he left, giving word to the Ministry and letting them know he was extending his hunt to all of Europe. A year would pass before they gave him an answer. They said yes and he left.

He had gotten a job at various Ministrys, as a Werewolf/ Vampire specialist. He had travelled all across Europe, and even had a brief stay in America, before heading back to London to visit his parents. His mother was sick, and she was dying. Vane wanted to be there for the funeral. He stayed in London a while, doing what he did best.

After Vane’s father passed away, Vane decided that there was nothing left for him in London, so he checked in with the Ministry and then left. It was at this same time that Lord Voldemort made his presence known. It is still speculated whether or not Vane knew of Voldemort’s existence beforehand.

During his second venture out into the world he saved a wizard from a vampire attack. This wizard also happened to be a member of Wizengamot. Quickly getting in the wizard’s favor, Vane eventually found himself a member of Wizengamot as well. This cut down his other job substancially, until he quit hunting altogether.

Recently, he had gotten news about the several werewolf and vampire attacks happening in his old hometown. Requesting to go to London to help, “clean up the mess”, he packed his bags and headed back to the place of his birth. Getting in favor with the new Head of Magical Law Enforcement, Theodora Kingstreet, has been hard work. Then again, Vane likes hard work.

[Years of Ministry Employment:] Officially, it’s been 30 years.

[Special Talents/Info:] A vampire/werewolf specialist; apperates just about everywhere if it’s far enough away; has in his arsenal various impliments that aid him in his work; wears heavy dark robes to hide the scars. Also, he has thin metal plates that run along his forearm, shins, chest, and back for added protection; avoids getting hit in the face to preserve the illusion that he can’t be hurt; has several contacts due to his status in the wizarding world; over the years he has lost his accent, which makes it difficult to trace where he’s actually from… and he uses it to his advantage.

[What do you foresee being the main duties of your job?] Hunting and capturing vampires and werewolves; protecting innocents throughout London

[Writing sample:]

“Aura Nihilum”

No scent. Vane could track the werewolf more effectively now. It had killed one person already, and Vane was ready to bring it in. Tonight, Vane was the hunter and the werewolf was prey. With wand in hand, he follwed the trail. The stale smell of blood was lingering in the air. He was close. He pulled a vial from his belt and hurled it into a patch of darkness. There was a sound of the vial hitting the ground, followed by a loud CRACK!, and the werewolf made his presence known.

It leaped at Vane, but he was quick to dodge it. The werewolf went for a second attack. Expelliarmus!, Vane yelled with wand pointed at the werewolf. It shot back and slammed against a tree. The werewolf got up again, and Vane repeated the process. The werewolf got back up and slashed Vane in the chest. His robes were cut open, but the protective metal prevented Vane from being severely injured. The force of the hit was enough to send Vane to the ground. The werewolf brought it’s head down, as if to bite Vane… but Vane was ready for it.

“Argenteus!” Vane yelled with wand forward. Within moments the werewolf was choking on what appeared to be a silvery powder that emanated from Vane’s wand. Vane stood up, examined his robes, and looked at the werewolf who was now on the ground gasping for air. A quick binding spell put the werewolf out of commission. “Fortunately for you, the silver spell wears off.” He patted the werewolf on the head mockingly, grabbed it’s foot and with a loud BOOM!, Vane apperated back to the Ministry with werewolf in tow.

Well, I have decided upon a new feature for the site which will bring exposure to the many gifted writers active in the Wizarding World RP. In this feature, we will be choosing characters that intrigue, mystify, charm, disgust, and those who make us laugh. In other words, let’s share the cream of the crop of well-crafted character bios, and interview their authors. Hopefully this will give us all a chance to get to know each other better, spark ideas, and build friendships and plotlines at the site.

I’ll be sending out a few interview sheets to members that will be featured in the coming weeks. Please fill these out as much or little as you wish, and return them to me at: admin. Once I have a few replies, “Lumos!” On comes the spotlight. Don’t forget to wear your shades.

Magical Reference

:[ February 19th, 2006

Ever wish you had kept track of those clever book titles you thought up on a whim? Or maybe a bizarre plant or potion ingredient you mentioned in passing while RPing? HogwartsMagic is currently working on creating a compilation of these ingenius additions to the Magical Universe at the RP forum.

Eventually the new main website will be updated with a listing of all canon and created reference items for use in RP and fan fiction. If you would like to try your hand at submitting, or if you have already created some items that would be perfect additions to the compedium, please post in the appropriate thread.

Check them out here:

Aberforth’s Dilemma

:[ February 19th, 2006

Goblins like Hurgok are nothing but trouble. His reputation for seedy deals and libidinous flirtations with loose women are bad enough, but when he starts bringing pestilential insects into Shackleton’s home, it’s enough to make a goatkeeper crazy. Poor Aber!

Grab a butterbeer, bring your own glass, and watch out for drunken dwarf pickpockets. Its another day at the Hog’s Head Pub.

We’ve reached the halfway mark in the school year at Hogwarts, and you know what that means! No, not party time… No, not the Yule Ball… Its the second part of the HogwartsMagic Character Awards!

This time we have added a section specifically for Hogwarts characters who were mostly overlooked for the first vote due to the fact that it was held before the school year was in full tilt. So now is your chance to speak your mind, let your favorites be known, and be recognized for your talents.

Come Rest Ye Merry Hippogriffs…

:[ February 18th, 2006

Wizard Crackers popping, tiny chiming bells tinkling, snowflakes falling, roast beast galore… Yep! You guessed it! Hogwarts Christmas Feast has begun. Let the few merry and dedicated souls who remain at the school gather to celebrate in high style and with full bellies.

Infestation of Insects

:[ February 4th, 2006

Uh oh, who would have guessed that Filch’s spotless scrubbed floors and tidy corridors would soon be home to a plague of pests? Well, it wasn’t exactly planned, but it is a school. They shouldn’t be surprised to find that the gigantic Pakistani Puss-Filled Cockroaches have somehow found their way from the Hog’s Head Pub and into Hogwarts castle. But how in the world could this have come about? And will the school be prepared for mating season?

Peeves unsurprisingly has a hand in the matter, as does a rather unusual student harboring a maternal instinct towards crawlies. Warning: hide your homework, duck flying potions, and never approach a mating Princess. [Featuring: Peeves, Aiden Cormac, Chloe Tibberton, Lynn Waldo]

What do two redheaded twins, a retired and paranoid auror, and an escaped convinct have in common? One amazing chase sequence through Diagon and Knockturn is what! Don’t miss the exciting and harrowing thread featuring the hilarious Weasley twins, the determined Mad-Eye Moody, and the cunning Lucius Malfoy. Will the Order members prevail, or will Luci’s wit get him off the hook once again?

Timeline Repaired & Calendar Released

:[ January 31st, 2006

Changes to the timeline and preparations for dealing with the attack on Hogwarts are underway now. Please review the following information and calendar.

________________________

Dates we are currently RPing: December 13th - December 31st

Dates no one should be RPing yet: No one should be RPing anything after January 1st [because of the massive attack on the school being RPed as January 1st. We will give time to finish up the attack before doing the lockdown and interrogations. More info will be announced when this is ready to RP.]

Professors: Please finish up class threads and lock them. All current classes should be taking place and ending before the holiday break. Staff members can then RP activities over the holidays such as Christmas Feast with the students, Hogsmeade trips on the weekends, private holiday parties in the castle, drinks at the Three Broomsticks [if someone wants to arrange a staff party during the week.] I hope you will take advantage of this chance to interact with the students, staff, and Aurors to have a little fun time to recouperate from your busy teaching schedules.

Students: Please begin to RP what your character is doing over the holiday break. This means that if you wish to return home, you may RP in Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and all other areas of the Wizarding World except Hogwarts. The trip home from Hogwarts this year will include the following options: secure transport via Hogwarts Express; Ministry secured apparition point for Ministry Licensed students of age; floo network from Professor Flitwick’s office [if arranged in advance.] If you are staying at the school, you will be under high security during the week at the castle, but will have free time to hang out. Students staying at the school will be able to visit Hogsmeade on the weekends with signed permission slips from parents. Aurors and staff will patrol the path from the school and the village. Please follow all Ministry Security precautions such as not talking to strangers, travelling in groups, etc.. [Note: It would be preferable if not everyone stays at the school since normally most students return home for the holidays. However, we will not be limiting who can stay.]

Aurors: I’ll leave your assignments up to what Theodora Kingstreet has you assigned to doing. As per usual, we will need Aurors making their presence known in Hogsmeade threads, so if you could pop into threads occasionally even just one post having a look around and being seen it would be a great help. Same goes for patrols of the castle during the break - infractions should be reported to the headmaster to be dealt with first. Extreme cases will then proceed to Ministry investigation/actions as needed. Once we are finished with the attack threads expect extra missions opening up where Aurors will interrogate staff, students, and others present at the school on the night of the attack. If you are interested in having a part in the attack threads, please PM Theodora Kingstreet immediately to see if there are any areas that could use some more Ministry volunteers.

The St. James Murder Mystery

Jarod Rappaport - Daily Prophet Correspondant
HOGSMEADE - The St. James Murder Mystery

The week-end of November 6th through 8th marked the Guy Fawkes celebrations. School spirit was high enough to allow security to be only briefly lax as the students ventured home for the holidays. However, rank news of a foul crime committed against a student stunted the festivities abruptly. Hogwarts resumed the following Monday; though when I visited the campus, there was a dreary nebula lurking over the entire student body, spreading even to the strong, resilient, and guiding staff.

Evangeline St. James was murdered in her home late Friday evening, and the cause is still unknown or, at least, unreleased to the public. Perhaps most startling was the subsequent murder of her mother, the esteemed socialite, Lydia St. James. The events, whether separate or related, sparked many memories, laments, conspiracies, and conversation on campus this past week.

On the Record

:[ January 12th, 2006

The last couple years in the wizarding world have been eventful, what with the brewing war alongside strange disappearances and frequent Azkaban escapes. It has put the Ministry of Magic under much pressure and forced their every action on the front pages of The Daily Prophet. Now the Ministry has called a conference to answer the many questions the public inevitably has, especially the hard-hitting reporters who would like nothing more to force officials into sticky statements.

Read as the pressure builds here:
